The Summer session of story hour
schedule
Libraries are bustling with activities during the summer. Preschoolers may join older siblings for the “Have Book—Will Travel” Summer Reading program, but they also have their own story times. Beginning June 11, children aged three to five years old may attend any of the summer sessions of the six-week story hour program at any of the six branches of Illinois Prairie District Public Library.
Danita Scheirer, District Children’s Librarian, has planned a creative program which includes reading the children interesting picture books, teaching a craft, singing songs, playing games, and doing activity sheets.
Parents may sign up their child each week at any of the six locations for the story hours. They do not have to be present for the whole series or attend the same location each week. The service is free, but there is a maximum number allowed.
