U.S. Air Force Band CD’s @ Library
Illinois Prairie District Public Library has recently acquired several musical CD’s recorded by the U.S. Air Force Band and the Singing Sergeants which are available for our patrons to check out. Some of the titles of these CD’s range from From This Moment On, Imagine the Possibilities, Light One Candle, Front and Center, A Collection of Marches, First Flights, American Treasures, Home of the Brave, Caroling by the Singing Sergeants, and Tiempo Latino by Airmen of Note.
The U.S. Air Force Band is the Air Force’s premier musical organization. Since its formation in 1941, it has brought superb music and exciting entertainment to music lovers throughout America and around the globe, earning its reputation as “America’s International Musical Ambassadors. It performs a broad variety of musical genres from classical and jazz, to country and rock.
The Singing Sergeants, the 24-voice official chorus of the U.S. Air Force, is one of the worlds most versatile and traveled choral organizations. Formed in 1945, it is internationally recognized for its commitment to excellence in vocal performance.
The Metamora area was honored to have these two groups perform last October at Metamora Township High School. Now Illinois Prairie District Public Library is pleased to have these CD’s available to our patrons at the branches at Metamora, Roanoke, and Washburn. We hope to also have some available at our other three branches in the near future. If you were unable to go to this wonderful live concert at Metamora, you will want to check out these CD’s to hear what you missed. If you were fortunate to have gone, you will want to hear them again
