The AARP TAX-AIDE Program Needs YOU!!
We are in urgent need of volunteers to help the elderly and low income taxpayers do their federal and state income tax returns this coming year. The AARP Foundation TAX-AIDE program is the nations’ largest volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service. This FREE tax preparation service with no strings attached is a joint effort with the internal Revenue Service to equip and train volunteers, thus allowing volunteers to give back to their local community. We have jobs that need to be filled besides doing tax returns. We need greeters, computer technicians and trainers. Since we do all tax returns electronically, the volunteer tax-aide needs basic computer skills. We will train you on the tax software and tax law needed to complete a tax return. Training will be in the December 2013 through January 2014 time frame with sites opening Feb 1, 2014 to April 15, 2014. We order our training materials in October so please add your name to the volunteer list by October 30, 2013.
