Veterans Day Closure

All IPDPL branches will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in honor of Veterans Day.  Branches will reopen on Wednesday according to their regular schedules.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

The IPDPL Digital Library is always open!  View your account, access digital resources, and download or stream e-books, audiobooks, movies, music, and more at any time!

Boundless App Update

Due to the unexpected closure of Baker & Taylor, the Boundless platform and app are being discontinued.  The eRead Illinois collection of e-books and e-audiobooks will transition to a new platform offering the same great titles plus new enhancements.  For complete details, please visit our Library News page.

Metamora Branch Relocation

Description

The Metamora branch of Illinois Prairie District Public Library will be closing at noon on Saturday, June 17th, and remain closed until Monday, July 10th, when we will reopen at our new construction location in Mt. Vernon Plaza, 900 W. Mt. Vernon St. (across the parking lot from Goodfield State Bank).  We will remain in this location during the renovation project at our Partridge Street location.  A reopening date has not been determined yet.

Service guidelines for the new location:

  • Cardholder Services - Get or renew a library card, 
  • Circulation Services - LIMITED - Place items on hold, pick up holds, and return materials ONLY.  Collection holdings will NOT be available for browsing at this location.  
  • Computer, Print, & Copy Services - Patron computers and print/copy services WILL be available.
  • Library Programming - NONE.  Programs normally held at the Metamora branch will be relocated to other branches or held at alternate, off-site locations (e.g., Black Partridge Park).
  • Library Space Usage - NONE.  Study areas, etc., will not be available.
