Joe Gardner is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. He is a talented pianist who lives and breathes jazz, dreaming of the day he will get his big break. On the cusp of success, after nailing a make-or-break audition, he suddenly finds himself trapped in a mystical plane of existence. While attempting to find his way back to reality, Joe is given an opportunity to re-evaluate his own life. While mentoring a “never-been-born,” Joe discovers what it means to have purpose and passion, and what it means to have Soul.
