Lost & Damaged Item Fees

Charges for lost or damaged items are based on the replacement cost of the item or the repair cost of the item. These costs vary. Items determined irreparable by library staff will be treated as lost items and fines will be charged accordingly. Please speak with a staff member to determine the charges.

Lost or damaged items belonging to other libraries (but received and borrowed at Illinois Prairie District Public Library) may incur different charges than those owned by Illinois Prairie District Public Library. Please contact Illinois Prairie District Public Library for more information.

Printing & Faxing

All branches have public print and fax capabilities. Printing is $0.05 per copy for black and white and $0.25 per copy for color. Faxing is free to send and receive.

Donate to the Library

Please contact a member of the library staff with questions or help with the donation process.

Monetary Donations

Monetary gifts are a great way to show your support for the library. Donations of funds are always welcome and may range from simple cash gifts to endowments and bequests. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and acknowledged. Donations to the library are generally tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.

Tributes and Memorials

The Illinois Prairie District Public Library is always honored to accept memorial donations from family and friends in memory of someone whose life was especially enriched by the library’s services or staff. We gratefully accept gifts given in memory of a special honoree or a loved one.

Donations of Books and Other Materials

Donations of books and other materials help to broaden our collections, meet the demand for multiple copies of heavily-used titles, and replace lost or damaged copies. We happily accept fiction and non-fiction books, and DVDs published or released in the current year.

Note: From time to time we do not have the capacity to accept material donations. Please call ahead. Not all donated materials are added to the library collection. The library reserves the right to decide which donated items will be added.
