American Pop Artist and Author Michael Albert

Michael Albert is known for making collage artworks from cereal boxes and other printed cardboard consumer brand packages.  His work has been described as a cross between Pop Art, Cubism, and recycling.  His "Portrait of An American Classic," a Frosted Flakes box collage from 1996, marked what he calls "The Birth of Cerealism."  Since then, he has created over 700 cereal box collages and other artworks using everyday materials.

Mr. Albert will give an artist talk and presentation, sharing his creative experience and sharing examples of his work.  He will then lead a hands-on workshop where participants will create their own collages using the same types of materials that Mr. Albert uses in his own creations.  The morning will end with a free poster giveaway and signing for each participant.

About Michael Albert

Michael Albert was born in 1966 and raised on Long Island, New York.  He began creating art while earning a business degree at New York University.  His works have evolved from doodles and pen & ink drawings to wax oil drawings to the cubist mosaic cereal box collages he has become known for internationally.  Over the past 35 years, he has created literally thousands of original works, including drawings and collages.  In 2008, he published an art autobiography, "An Artist's America," featuring a collection of his work to date.

Mr. Albert developed his Pop Art Enrichment Program & Hands-On Workshops to bring art to children of all ages.  His "Modern Pop Art Experience" is a multi-generational presentation he has given at more than 1,000 schools, libraries, museums, and art festivals in the United States and Europe.

Mr. Albert is also the founder and owner of Sir Real, a brand of fruit juice and natural foods.
