Program Description

Event Details

Dr. Amanda Vicary is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Psychology department at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL.  She has done extensive research into crime, the reasoning some criminals use to justify their behavior, and why the public in general (and women specifically) are drawn to tales of true crime.

During this interactive Zoom event, Dr. Vicary will discuss her research, explore two cases of potential wrongful convictions in Illinois (Barton McNeil and Jamie Snow), and the ongoing effort to clear the record of Chester Weger, the man convicted in the Starved rock murders case.

This Zoom event will be presented as a meeting (as opposed to the webinar format).  Attendees will be visible on-screen (if they choose to have their webcam turned on), and they will be able to submit questions in writing or via their microphones if they choose.
