An Update on the eRead Illinois Catalog and the Future of Boundless

eRead Illinois Is Moving to a New App

The eRead Illinois collection of e-books and e-audiobooks will soon move to a new home!  Due to the recent and unexpected closure of Baker & Taylor, the Boundless app, which currently hosts eRead Illinois, is being discontinued.  The collection will transition to The Palace Project app, a sustainable platform that will offer the same great titles plus new enhancements.

What You Need to Know

  • Holds & Checkout History: Holds and checkout history in Boundless will not transfer to Palace Project.  We recommend making a list of any titles you’d like to check out again later.
  • No New Holds: You can no longer place new holds in the Boundless app.
  • Last Day to Borrow: Sunday, November 2, is the final day to check out items in Boundless.
  • App Retirement: The Boundless app will stop working on Monday, November 17.
  • Palace Project Launch: Starting Tuesday, December 2, you can download the free Palace Project app, find your library, and log in with your library card to enjoy the eRead Illinois collection again.
