Writing: Why Bother?, presented by Dr. Ezekiel Jarvis

Everyone writes — whether it's notes, letters, cards, or emails — but not everyone sees themselves as a writer.  Many believe that only a select few have the talent to produce meaningful, lasting work.

Zeke Jarvis will explore why writing still matters in a world overflowing with publications.  Drawing from his experience as both a writer and publisher, Jarvis will discuss how to balance craft and promotion, offering strategies for finding meaning in the writing process and reaching an audience.  He will also read from his own work.

A man with close-cropped hair is smiling.

About Zeke Jarvis
Dr. Ezekiel Jarvis is a Professor of English at Eureka College (Eureka, IL) and Editor of Eureka Literary Magazine.  He teaches creative writing, composition, and literature courses, with a focus on American Literature, Contemporary Fiction, and Humor in Writing.  His publishing credits include novels, books of short stories (both as sole author and contributing author), poetry, non-fiction anthologies (both as sole author and contributing author), and a play.

When he is not teaching (or writing), he enjoys cooking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
