Ruining the Punchline, with Joel Shoemaker

Joel Shoemaker is a local author.  He is also an actor.  And a magician.  And a librarian.  Notably, he is the former Library Director for IPDPL!  Joel has published four books in the past five years.  His most recent book, Cocktails & Concatenations: Stories | Recipes, was published at the beginning of May.  His other works include a novel (Bacon Grief, 2021), another short story collection (Teeth & Crumpets, 2023), and a children's picture book (Silas on Sundays, 2024).  He is also a contributing author to two short story anthologies, Love on the River and Figments & Fragments, both published in 2024.

Gather 'round, sit for a spell, and listen to this imaginative storyteller discuss writing and the creative process.
